East side of the lake is mo betta (ie 985 > 400). Hall county over Forsyth. Been in Gainesville since '06 and it's not a bad place to live.

I have lived in and around Gainesville my entire life. Northern part of hall county and Forsyth side being the preferred areas. That said avoid Gainesville like the plague.

North hall is the way to go. Stay away from city limits though.

I live in an older subdivision on the west side of Hall County just outside the city limits.
Inside the city, medical services are plentiful and top notch.
The city is like many, older parts with run down areas, newer parts as its being renovated.
Having lived in Gwinnett/Suwanee for a number of years before moving here, I am very satisfied with the area, the people and the conveniences. JMHO.
