The Monos Troop is wondering what the ODT thinks about living in the greater Gainesville area, specifically around the lake....Northern part (north of hwy 129).....which side of the lake is better? Is it OK or should I just pass on it altogether?

Living in Gainesville....Yay or Nay?

no emissions in Hall, schools in Hall? Forsyth has emissions, school taxes are high so its a toss up. Gainesville city is a ****hole
North Hall is your friend.
I enjoy living in gainesville. I’m more towards the Braselton side. Would rather be up on the north end of Hall

I live just on the edge of Hall County between Gainesville and Dawsonville. I absolutely love it up here. We moved up from the Alpharetta area. So big questions you need to ask yourself are in regards to the schools. Our kids are out of school and we are empty-nesters with direct lake access. I’m a three minute golf cart ride from being on the water and there’s nothing like having the freedom to go out on the lake especially during the middle of the week when all the idiots are at home. If you have kids you may want to consider Forsyth or North Hall. I personally don’t like the city of Gainesville for the traffic but it has all you need in terms of retail I have a luxury of being between dawsonville and Gainesville I can choose either. If you love lake living its great.
