Local Gun range ammo prices.

care to expound?
Sure, I posted up the story when it happened but it looks like it may have been disappeared?

Anyway, speaking about Kennesaw first... My suppressor really seemed to strike a nerve with them. In the midst of sighting in my gun, just as I got settled in, bench rest set up how I like it, and my first group started, I hear all of this hooting and hollering. I safe my gun, and attempt to find out wtf was going on. They (multiple employees) started screaming EARS!!! I pointed at the bright orange plugs filling up my ear holes, and they made some smart ass comment about they should be able to see them. Keep in mind, the lane on either side of me was empty, and the dividers transparent clear. All someone would have really had to do would be step into one of those lanes, or possibly even the open lanes next to those to get a look. But no, that's not how it went.
They disperse, and I get back to what I was doing. I got some more rounds down range, then more hooting and hollering in my general direction. Again, I safe the gun and attempt to find out what the major malfunction was. I was then asked if I had paperwork for my suppressor. I replied yes. He then said "can I look at your paperwork?". I reached in my bag, pulled out the paperwork and had just finished unfolding it, when I realized that I was rapidly becoming an unhappy customer. I folded the paper back up, put it back into my bag, and told the highly trained individuals that I was done, and that it was thanks to their harassment.
I told them the same thing at the counter when I checked out, and there seemed to be no regret or concern with the issue at all. I paid to drive the 40 minutes to get there, set up my equipment, make a couple interrupted shot groups, get interrupted multiple times for non issues, then break down my gear without having successfully sighted in my gun. Paid for the full amount of time even though I certainly did not get to use it, and left home on my 40 minute drive.

Emailed their corporate, and they doubled down. Had no issue with the way that any of it was handled, and basically wished me the best.

Firing line I'll discuss another time. Not nearly as big of a deal with them, just didn't appreciate the way they treated new shooters. That one was a long time back though and I believe they have new management now?

My one and only time at Governors, the staff was super cool with me having a binary(yes, obviously pre-Covid prices) and even put us on an end of the range so as to minimize bothering other shooters. Then one of the Managers stepped in and complained and we decided to leave because he was acting like a total ahole about it. Haven’t been back since. High Caliber gets all my business now. No hassles but helpful friendly staff.

Yeah that sucks

Called a couple local ranges to see the cost of range ammo if ya gonna shoot there.
So Ga firing line Is Most expensive at 38 bucks for 50 rounds. Governors gun club is cheapest at only 16 bucks a box. Seems a bit different in pricing...Just thought I’d share or give discussion topic. Y’all shooting as much as ya did before the craziness or holding back?
Be glad you didn’t call QuickShots. They get 60.00 per 50 plus range time, targets. Yikes!

That's my range, they're pretty good on membership deals but have always charged way above average for ammo. Pre-covid they wanted $30 for a box of 38 special.

People are still paying it though if ya can believe it. I was there about two weeks ago and some guy had come in to do a machine gun rental from em. He started while I was there and kept on going, even after I was leaving. I asked the guys at the front desk and they told me that guy had blown through at least $1000 worth of their ammo so far.

Not trying to jack the thread, quick question but.
Just out of curiosity, where is the price hike kicking in at?
Is it starting at the manufacturer hiking his prices, then the middleman tacks some on and then the retailer slapping a few dollars on as well? Or is the retailer paying his normal rate and then slapping whatever he can get away with/what the market will bear, onto the customer?
