Lockheed Martin C-130, Celebrating 60 Years of Hercules Flight

This aircraft was the first one I ever flown in. My first 5 times on this aircraft I ever experienced a landing with it(airborne training)
A C130 rolling down the strip,,,,,
I've dug into the nitty gritty details of that plane's structure more than once... there's a lot to be said for fail safe engineering. As it was designed and rolled off the line, you could reduce the cargo a little and do really fast touch and go landings with very little effect on the aircraft structure.
Let's just say I'd feel much safer on a C-130 that was 50 years old than a new Boeing 777 that just rolled off the line. Sure that's not apples to apples, but this engineer has seen the guts of both.

I've always liked the Polish Whisper Jet! Definitely one of the greatest planes of all time.
GREAT Aircraft! My Father-in-law, Mother-in-law and Wife all worked on the C-130 at some point during their time at Lockheed...FIL was one of about eight or ten who suggested the name "Hercules" in a Company Contest--IIRC, he got a Zippo Lighter for that, LOL!
