Long Gun Suggestions

I am reviving this thread because I have landed in Mossberg MVP Varmint and I am now looking a good scope that would be GREAT for 100yds but could move on out to further when I get my 100yrd group tight enough. I am not wanting to spend an large amount on the scope because this is still just a hobby for me and the wife would not be very happy if I went too crazy. I do not know much about scopes so any basics or links would also be great so I can do some learning also.

Cannot go wrong with Leo VariX II 3x9x40. It is cheaper that Vx III and it will do all you need to do.

I'd build an ar. Fa bcg, 20" or so stainless bull barrel, good glass and match ammo. No recoil at all. If recoil is an issue,VI can't reccomend a 308.
