Looking for some recommendations. Looking for the most accurate bolt action rifle in the $1,000- $1,500 range. Wanted something that will handle 600 yard shots well. What do you recommend?

First is caliber. Then how much you plan to drop on glass? As far as price for a production rifle I'd ride with Bergara HMR Pro.

In no particular order:

Thompson Center Performance T/C LRR

Ruger Precision Rifle

Bergara HMR

Winchester Model 70 Long Range MB

Any of the 3 chassis rifle offerings from Howa

Both .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor are more than enough for what you want to do, and can more than double your stated distance.

If all you want to do is 600 yards, I’d suggest something along the line of the Howa Mini Action in 6.5 Grendel.

I went with the Savage 10 FCP-HS in 308 win w-24" barrel. I loaded up some 155gr Lapua Palma bullet's but haven't had a chance to try them out.

Something in the 224 Valkyrie would be nice too. Before Covid hit the ammo for that was pretty reasonable.

I would suggest the Bergara, but I have had 3 come into the shop with broken bolt shrouds. One had the threads stripped out, another with the rear half of the shroud broken off, and the third that broke the shroud leaving the threaded portion in the bolt body. The shrouds are cheap steel, and the replacements are no better. It would be a great rifle if not for this major material flaw.

With that said, I second the Ruger PR, and would add the Savage 110 Elite Precision.
