Hey everyone, Although I have a carrying permit, I elected not to take my sidearm into the hampton inn across from the mall. I secured it as well as my GPS and alot of Christmas gifts in my tinted windowed, alarm on locked truck. Parked in front of entry overhang under a light and STILL some lowlife punched a hole above doorlock and entered my truck. This scum had taken my mod.23 .40 cal glock, 2 loaded clips and gps. Nothing else was missing. Maybe he will try to program destination while driving and smack a tree head-on shooting himself in the butt.

That's effed up.

Keep us posted! Hopefully the guns will turn up at a pawn shop that actually uses the software designed to alert them of stolen guns, and the ignorant thug will have been stupid enough to not file off all the serial numbers.

I sometimes wonder if it'd be worth it to booby trap my car.....

Holy $hit that really sucks. You call LE? Odd how they would take just that and not any gifts. Did you have any high tech stuff? I ask because you would think if they took the GPS they would take that too. Man every time I have to leave something in the car I think about that happening. I have a truck/SUV with a Convertible top and no trunk.
Sorry to hear this happened, I don't live far from the Mall and I don't hear much about this type of stuff at the Hamton Inn. Guy I know said 8 cars were broken into at his jobs' parking lot today in a matter of just a few minutes. Must be the season to be a scumbag. Saw a show last week that said LEO's can now track a GPS signal. Good luck and take it easy.

car bobby trap:
Under the seats, in the glove box and in the console - 12 gauge 00 shell dropped into a 1 1/2" pipe, one end capped & drilled with a 12V lighter element at the bottom mounted to a piece of flat 1/4" iron plate triggered with a relay tied to the seatbelt, dash light, glovebox, motion sensor, dome light whatever. No more thief.....

Wow. Uh....what do you drive? Just asking that way if I ever go so broke that I need to steal from people's parked cars, I know which one to avoid!!!

Goes to prove what I've always said, if you were going to give Gwinnett an enema you would stick the tube right in Buford.

Sorry about your loss.........I just can't bring myself to ever leave my gun in my car unattended. If there is someplace I can't go into with it.....I don't go...or if I absolutely have to go...I leave it at home..........

Thanks Guys for your comments. I will not make the mistake of leaving my gun in my auto ever again. Word from one of the policemen is that sometimes the thugs see hunting decals, firearm logo's etc. and hit those vehicles. Apparently, a "spotter" saw my wife remove the gps from the dashboard. Thats what they were after....a quick 25 dollars, then opened mt console and saw my piece. Anyway... yall be safe. Tim
