Looking for a "safe"

I don't know if there are better times to buy ie black Friday but I'm in the market as it were for a gun box. Looking at getting the Centurion by Liberty at Lowes for $400 but was wondering if there were any other good deals out there. Safe doesn't have to be huge, 12 cu ft 12-16 long guns is good.

Sometimes Academy has their smaller Cannon fire safe on sale for $399. Good safe-good price.

I'll check to see if its on their website. They are putting in an academy not too far from me but I don't know where one is now.

Closest Academy to you is the new one way up GA 400. Have not heard of any being built near Kennesaw. Also regarding the small Liberty save from Lowes - I cannot imagine anyone getting 12 - 16 long guns in it just for ref (they tend to over advertise the space). I'd be curious if a Lowes would be willing to deal with you on the price of a "floor model" - you never know. (They also offer 10% military discount).

I think they (lowes) also tend to run it on sale over the holidays - it was like $297 if I recall. The Tractor Supply in Dallas also runs sales from time to time on Cannon safes but currently I see nothing. Sams also has a $400 range Century safe ( think costco has something similar) if you happen to be a member.

Thanks Guy. They are building an Academy in Hiram/Dallas on 278. Should be opening sometime this year. As far as long guns I only have 4 at the moment including my home defense shotgun and my Gamo Big Cat pellet rifle. I do have plans for another 2 maybe 3 in the near future. I like the Liberty safe because you can get that door cover that holds the pistols but I have seen similar set ups for other safes so thats not too important.

It seems like I'll wait until I see some sales going on. I have already written down the ones I'm interested in and the price so I'll just keep an eye out for the sale.

Edit: I just went to my local Lowes and they have the smaller Liberty that I'm interested in. I talked to a nice older man and he showed me the inside and did say that they often have them on sale for $297 so I will be waiting until then to buy. I see now that you can't really fit 14 long guns in there but I should have enough space for what I have and my couple future pieces.

Yep-

Costco has a good deal-and they sometimes run a coupon.

The thing that kept me away from the Costco version is that it was keypad-controlled. I like the tumbler.

Check with Tractor Supply also. They usually have several different types/sizes of safes. They go on sale fairly often as well. Unfortunately their best deal is usually Black Friday but the sales still get fairly close.
