Hey Gang, would appreciate some info on this Luger. My dad left it to me. I know it was made in 1941 by Mauser and that's about it.
Thanks!

Thanks! I don't know what I don't know. Do the markings indicate anything else of note?Great looking example, but you really have kind of summed it up! What else would you like to know?
I'm no expert but it appears to be a nice clean example of a 41 byf which I'd be proud to own. That really aren't any other indications that give you more history on WW 2 po8s as there sometimes were on WW1 guns. I assume all numbers match external and internal? Thanks! Thanks I appreciate the info! I'll have to dig it out and check those grips and magazines! I have a holster too.Accepted by the german military in 1941, made in the Mauser Oberdorf factory. The 655 waffenampts are inspector marks from the factory.
She looks good and if all matching numbers she’s quite collectable. It would be interesting to see if the grip panels and magazines also match….this would increase the value nicely.
The FXO stamp on your mag means that it was made by C.G.Haenel Waffen-U-Faharradfabrik of Suhl. The mag body is salt blue or black and made of extruded steel or aluminum with pin bottom, zig-zag spring and stamped P.08. Those are normally found with Lugers marked 42 with byf toggles.
Thanks! I need to check on the grips.655 acceptance stamps March the year. I believe there were around 125k made that year. Do the grips match? Beautiful weapon. Let me know if you ever sell it.
