Looking for suggestions for my wife

Get a revolver.
Why? Because revolvers are rugged, simple to operate, easy to maintain, will function with any
commercial version of its proper cartridge, and are forgiving of grime, lack of lubrication, and other
neglect. Furthermore, if you pull the trigger on a revolver and it doesn't fire, you can pull the trigger
again and bring an entirely new cartridge into firing position. Incidentally, this is exactly why
policemen, hunters, campers, and other experienced folks frequently carry
revolvers. Because revolvers are simple and rugged, a used revolver is fine if it's in good condition.
Get a .357 Magnum it will allow her to either shoot .357 or .38 Special ammo

I posed this question to my wife. Her and I suggest a Makarov. More punch than a .380, easy to conceal, has a de-cocker so you can safely carry one in the pipe, and a STEEL frame which the barrel is affixed to making it quite accurate. Mag Safe ammo creates one hell of a wound channel too. Standard sidearm of the Soviet military for generations and all those Ivan's can't be wrong.

Go with a Kahr CM9.

Almost as small as a .380, but in a 9. The trigger pull is great! Smooth, easy and breaks clean, and the flat lines and small size are perfect for your wife to carry and hide away in a purse or holster.

Holler at me, she is welcome to try mine out.

Take her to a range and let her shoot various guns in various calibers. She'll then decide what SHE likes.

Correct answer.
A man can offer suggestions on guns to pick from but can no more pick out the right gun for a woman than he could a pair of shoes.
They have to handle them & preferably shoot them & decide for themselves.

Just because we like one gun or the other doesn't mean that they will or that they will even be able to operate it effectively.

LOL! I know T and his wife, and I gaurantee she's had plenty of range time! Just bought mine an LC9 from Monte. Someone had a great deal for one and 5 mags on here yesterday.
I thinking of changing over to a 9mm pocket KelTec, myself.
