Looking to get a motorcycle, question...

the cb series bike is the easiest bike to get parts for and fun , and safe , i say go for it theres a guy in ohio that sells alot of parts on ebay. i can get his web address for ya. pm me if you deciede to work on it .good luck

i have decided that the bike is coming home with me tomorrow. gonna pick it up at 1030am. we settled on a cash price of $50, lol. his 'ole lady must be really on his ass to let it go that cheap.

You'll just spend the initial savings in money and labor to get all the rubber and seals and motor and charging and controls and lights and safety equipment and fluids and crap like that, that most consider secondary and then when you're riding in 2014 or 15 you'll be like I shoulda just bought a better bike.
Add it up, take that and see what's available. You can get a decent rideable bike for $1500-2k

Buy it for $100, part it out and sell the parts on Ebay and use the proceeds to buy something that runs. Honda parts are very expensive. You would be much better off getting something that runs. I have done many restorations and have found you can get upside down in a project very quickly when you start buying parts.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ try and fix it, if it gets too much to handle you can part it out and get $1000 easy for the parts. they are rare bikes.

Parts should be available at reasonable prices, just don't try a dealer.
For a $100 you can scrap it and get that from the aluminum.

I would do like the guys are saying try to break the engine free and hope the carbs are not gummed up. Still should not be too hard to fix, if the damage is not fatal.
