Looking to move. Want suggestions on what city in Ga to move to.

Pooler GA is worth a look. I think last year it rated the best city in America to live in. If I were looking for a place to raise a family in, it would be on the short list.

Honestly, if I were to sell and move, it would be deep into rural Alabama. I live in the country in Carroll Co now but I have been here a while and see the burbs creeping in.
I am retired though and know that good jobs would be difficult to come by in ALA.

If I’m moving out of state, it’s Tennessee hands down. Can’t do Alabama lol.

I tried to convince the wife to move to rural north Florida but no luck. You can buy some really cool property there for cheap and no state income tax. Staying in GA we’re really happy in Cartersville but Blue Ridge would probably be my next choice.

The first question is where do you work and how far are you willing to commute?

Look at he list of schools rated first to worst. Because a good education is paramount. Next look at the crime rates and the housing prices. Figure out where you can buy some property without neighbors who are too dam close.

I did the same thing in 2001. I had kids in school and 9 of the top 10 schools in the state were north of the 285 loop. The other top ten school was Fayette county. The housing prices were great compared to the other 9 and so was the crime rate.

Buford City Schools are #1. Yup, but there are some GHETTO places around the school. Nice older ranches can be had for $200's.
And Fulton Co ranked that high? Only BC Alpharetta and JOhns creek boost those ratings from the inner city.
Gwinnett Co is rated decent, that's BC north Gwinnett is raked HIGH and SoGwinnett isn't, so it balances out.

Be careful on these "rankings of best city to live/raise/etc". They are nothing more than OPINIONS and often have some hidden agenda. Suwanee was ranked top 10 places back in the day, now it is overcrowded and crime has moved in now n then from criminals that want to "score".

Heard county is great.
Good schools
Lots of land at good prices
2 traffic lights in Franklin and a nice small town
