So, when I turned 52 the VA asked if I wanted to be involved in an annual Fecal Immunochemical Testing. Basically a study to determined feasibility of using the FIT in lieu of a colonoscopy. (You send them a stool sample and they test it) So far it seems to be a reliable test but I think this coming year I'm going to do the real thing - trust but verify, esp with the VA!

The first time I had one the doctor came in and told me to roll over he was fixing to get started. I told him he had two choices at this point. 1 knock me out or 2 get ready for an a$$ whipping. He knocked me out. The rest is history.

Good advice, have the regular fecal check and if they find something odd, like blood, then you have the colonoscopy.
