lower back pain

If your in the bottom position too much u should change to the top position. Notice the posture he has here

so, again for those who have had kidney stones, the pain was super intense generally? was it relegated to one side? and did the pain come in waves?

I just woke up, couldnt pee all morning from 8-noon. Dad said it was just a bladder infection and to drink a gallon of cranberry juice. So I did. Next thing I know Im red lining my little honda accord driving stupid fast to the hospital in intense pain. That was 6 years ago so I dont remember if it favored one side or not. But when it passes from the kidney to the bladder, you will know something is wrong. If thats what you have...

I'd recommend some stretches/exercises and maybe some KT tape:

I treat shoulders, not backs, but I'd say try to see a physical therapist who can do a quick evaluation on you and give you some exercises that you can do at home.

What kind of stretches are you doing? I suggest focusing on stretches that treat your, don't laugh, psoas. Unless you have had trauma to your lower back your pain may be linked to tight psoas(aka;iliopsoas) and/or inflammation of your adrenal glands. There is often a correlation between the two. Lay off the sugar, minimize bread, and do psoas stretches. "Upward Dog" is hell the first few times you do it but really makes for fast results for me. Taking an anti-inflammatory med like Aleve while you do this should help.

Now I can tell you about some kidney stones. In 1983 I had one stuck between my kidney and bladder in the ureter. I am here to tell you that is one pain you don't want. The urologist (butcher) decided he should take the cystyscope and retrieve it. Of course they put me under. When I woke,I thought someone had put a hot poker up there. He said I was just about to cut you open when it finally came out. I have suffered until this day. There was or is a lot of scar tissue from two hours of roto rooting. I have had lithotripsy which is breaking up the stone in the kidney and also at this time I am the proud owner of 10 kidney stones at last count. 5 on each side and two of them are big. The current Urologist says leave them alone unless they are blocking the ducts or they are extremely painful.
If you have one and you are lucky to pass one without pain,,count yourself lucky, because I have seen grown tough guys fall out on the floor crying from the pain.
I had a lady tell me in the waiting room one day that she had twins and that hurt less than the kidney stone she had.
In addition I have degenerative disc disease, so I feel your pain. Hope it gets better.

thanks

and ya, lucky for me the doctor said if i had kidney stones or issues i would have already been at a doctor

he also said it probably wasnt a bulging disc, but hope for the best that its not. told me to do stretching, take motrin, ice/heat pack, and if it keeps up after a bit more or gets worse im supposed to holler at an ortho

ive heard about how bad the kidney stones could be but id figured i wanna rule out things first
