Electronic muscle stimulation. The real problem is weight and sedentary lifestyle. Exercising and losing weight is at odds with a painful back. Hence Electronic muscle stimulation. Contact a physical therapist ask if they do EMS.

They will strip you down to undies, place pads on the areas you want to work. I suggest the back and stomach muscles. depending on the number of pads their EMS machine has they should do all that plus thighs and chest.

It is not painful. they will slowly bring up the juice and contract and relax your muscles while you watch tv.

It sounds kind of crazy, but it works. I found out about it recovering from a motorcycle accident. It's kind of strange not exerting any effort and to have your muscles contracting.
 
I haven't read all 12 pages, and this is more free ODT med advice from a non-physician, but core strength and hamstring flexibility are the first two things to work on for non-injury caused low back pain. Exercise the abs and stretch the hams - helps in most cases.
 
Just do as alot of folks have said on here.Exercise a good diet and staying flexible is key.Will spend the rest of my life taking care of my back.Had ALIF years back
