Luger question

Hello I have a 1940 German luger and it has a spot on the bottom of the grip where it looks like a buttstock would have slid on I just need some info on it and would like to know if that's what it is and if all have it or is this a artillery lower as it does not match the upper

From what I just read its classified as collectors and you can own the stock just not attach it according to the ATF hmmm might need to look further into it be cool to have in display
