Oh of course not. And the other thing I learned from magnet fishing videos is that pretty much everything you find is rusty scrap metal. And you'd be surprised how many times they wind up calling local cops when they do find guns. And the cops are usually pissed because it's just more work for them.
When we lived in Darien I thought about doing it right there on Hwy 17 near the Glynn Co line. But I figured it would just be a bunch of fishing tackle since that's a pretty heavily fished bridge.
