MATCHING 1942 Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf in LGS

Walked into the gun department at ACE Hardware, Blue Ridge, GA and they had an 98K Mauser for sale. Figured it would be a RC mix master, but it turns out to be a nice 1942 byf rifle with matching parts. Oh, an no import marks. It is a consignment gun and has a $1350.00 price tag. It has been years since I've seen one of these. Great opportunity for the collector that wants a real collectable 98K. Here are a few pictures.

98's from 1942 are a little harder to find in bring back form. If I remember correctly that's the only full year that saw a drop in production. I think several manufacturers were transitioned to other weapons. Probably a great number went to troops fighting in Russia.
