'Mater sammiches....

Been eating these this week for the first time in my life. Today is a BLT&E for lunch.

Never ate a tomato sammich in my life before this week.

Just always seemed like old folks' food. Like buttermilk and ambrosia. Never had any interest until I ordered a fried balogna sandwich at the deli and gave my dog the balogna, leaving me with tomato, mayo and lettuce on white bread. That started it.

Even doing it now with the bacon. She gets that, I get the rest.

For breakfast, try it on a biscuit or three.
Fist slice of tomato, then bacon, then fried egg. Smother with sausage gravy then cover.
Eat daintily...

Another option is to used fried green tomato.

Used to eat these all the time when I was young and coming up. Take some of the biggest tomatoes from the garden and put them in the fridge for a while and then slice up and put them between two slices of white bread with mayo. Salt and pepper and some potato chips and you've got a full lunch for basically the cost of two slices of bread...
