The gun originally had some type of scope mounted on it. I looks similar to a Leupold base that I have looked at on Midway USA .....LEUPOLD K98 Base Product #575356/ Mfg# 49990.
1. My gun has 3 mounting holes already. the first two are spaced roughly .875" (21.5mm) and the last one 4.25-4.30"(108 mm). this is a one piece base. I want to make sure the elevations are in the same plane ensuring the centerline bore of the rifle will be parallel to the centerline of the scope.
2. The scope I want to mount on it needs to be elevated approximately 1" distance from the bottom of the base mounts (barrel part) to the bottom of the scope tube. This mount I am unfamiliar with and have typically installed weaver or pitcanny rail type mounts on my guns. What type of scope rings would you use with this kind of base mount?
I don't want to have special base and gun rings made. This should be basic standard hardware. I sure would appreciate if someone can give me some insight on this.
