Messin' with the mess kit

I love seeing these post' s, I still have my old military mess kit plus metal canteen cup, I did buy some kits from Sweden, and Germany, but my old US kit is still my go to kit.

Post up some pictures, I'd love to see your kits.
Bonus points if you go out and cook a meal!

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of your mess kit. Is it just for day hikes where you can have a nice meal before heading back to the car or is what you would keep in the truck for those fishing and car camping trips?
