Milwaukee gun store tries to deter criminals by no guns displayed and membership

The gun store is trying to deter criminals by having no guns visibly displayed in the store. They also require a membership to purchase guns that included showing proficiency with firearms and passing a background check wether you intend to ever buy or not...They have had issues in the past with selling guns that were used in crimes. Thoughts?

it is a sad day when a gun store has to go through all this crap
i look at it like this, if they were selling the gun to someone who could legally have one at the time, they didn't have ot worry about the law coming for them, the proficiency thing i am against.
i know when i bought my first j frame, it too me two-three range trips to shoot the thing well enough to carry it without worry, like they say you need a car to learn to drive

This is very strange indeed. I hope this is not a sign of things to come for gun store owners as a "form of crime prevention."

How ridiculous. Sounds to me like this stores owners have completely bought into the liberel premise that availability of firearms leads to crime. I personally believe that if you gave out guns like free newspapers on every corner in Milwaukee you would prevent more crime. This is the kind of crap that will lead to that gun stores owners supporting the legislation that shuts them down in the end.
