Misstamped coins…

Any of you guys have any knowledge of such things. I have found a few of what I would call “light strikes”. Found this one today…

the front is quite flat on old George…

the lip on reverse is almost non existent.

the grooves are not even halfway across.
 
I had a couple of those defective coins. I took them to a reputable dealer. They told me that coins are often mis-struck (and are not valuable). However, paper money was an entirely different matter.

However, I’d find a reputable coin dealer for a second opinion. Because I have both an opinion and an anus (hopefully you understand the reference).
 
Blueridgesilverhound on youtube does a weekly market report which includes errors. Your coin guy is wrong. Yours looks like it was struck through a mid to late stage die cap?
