Get a magnifying glass out and take a close look at the grain on the mount side of the Ruger grips.Did the needle test, a red hot needle pressed forcefully only leaves a tiny black mark. Also when you sand on them it kinda smells like semen, not sure if that helps.

At first I was going to say no, but looking closer the actual streaks do look purplish.Those 1911 grips look like elephant ivory to me. Ate the streaks blue or red looking?

No cross hatching. No little brown dots?Just looks like tight linear grain to me.
