Mossberg shockwave questions ?

You are missing the point but do what you do. Unless I bought it new and can easily show it came from the factory in shockwave configuration then you are taking a big risk. I could see if it were rare and worth the chance. Maybe it is to you ? If so more power to you . I'm just not buying that the ATF feels all pistol grip shotguns can be converted .

They approved it from the factory in that form. Anything else is a gray area like materials used. Say you grab the wrong part or accidentally make a slight error in dimensions or the weight is wrong due to being a slightly different model? Then you are off to the can to tell cell block C how awesome your $400 dollar 10 year mossberg was.....

See this is why I was afraid of these guns when I first saw them about 2 years ago. I told everyone that had them that they better carry a copy of the ATF letter anywhere they took the gun. No disrespect to cops but there's plenty of them who are kind of ignorant to gun laws. And this is just the type of thing that would have you face down on the pavement with half a dozen deputies surrounding you and going on and on about your illegal sawed off.

ATF letters from 2010 and 11. These self-built Raptors have been bought and sold on here for years now, with some sellers even providing said letters. I know because I've bought two before Mossberg was even producing them as the Shockwave.

I shot friends shockwave and the Remington version as I was considering buying 0ne, needless to say impressed I was not. shooting at IPSC targets at 20 yards the shockwave from the hip put only 12 # 7 1/2 pellets in the huge silhouette and then the Remington Tac-4 put 20 into it. I then laid both next to my 18 1/2 " barrel, 26 2/4 overall length, mossy pistol grip pump and was shocked that it, while holding 7 shells was only was 2 2/3" longer, put 38 pellets into the target and costs less that either of the new seeming around the law, rage shorties

Finally someone catches my drift . I've been detained a few times once they discovered what was in my car. Many cops are not gun people . I don't do grey area guns . Not worth the hassle. Luckily in both my cases I did not have to take a ride.

Great. I could buy a machine gun from Carlos over on the classifieds . He has some ATF paperwork so it must be legit right ? I've seen quite a few things that were clearly violations and were bought and sold all over. If you are ok with the risk the run it . I'd rather not be that one turning point case.

Lmao OK dude.

Have fun with that though! The whole damn NFA is dumb . This shotgun is cool but this one ain’t . Then you got Bullpup rifles that are the same size as AR-15s but the AR is a SBR .

Then don’t even get me amped up about 922r. 922r is a mandate nobody enforces, serves no purpose and is just stupid.
