Let's start with a 1976 Colt SP1. It has a C K Forged Upper ( CK = Colt / Kaiser Aluminum)

Next we have a Colt SP1 CARBINE from 1980 with a C M forge upper ( CM = Colt / Martin Marietta)

Next up we have a Colt SP1 from 1983 with a L M forge upper ( LM = LAR/Martin Marietta)

Now we have a Colt Match target from 1992 with a C M forge upper ( CM = Colt / Martin Marietta )

Then one of my favorites is a Colt C MB Forged Upper off a A2 gov carbine with restricted roll marks ( C MB = Colt / Mueller Brass)

Next we come into the A3 series rifles with a Tactical Carbine Restricted Roll mark ( my absolute favorite) Colt Key holed upper ( Keyhole = Cerro Forge)

Then a Restricted roll mark 6940 with a square Forge upper ( Square = Brass Aluminum Forging Enterprises)

Up next is a Colt Socom M4A1 with a 13629 square Forge upper ( Square = Brass Aluminum Forging Enterprises)

And last but not least is a Colt A4 20inch rifle. ( Cardinal (Stylized) = Cardinal Forge )

The last 2 are my most recent Colt AR, both with CR serial numbers starts, so the last 5 years production.

FYI for those that don't know the 13629 designation is for Colt's CAGE (Contractor Government Agency) code

Now into two Bushmaster Restricted Roll mark A2 uppers...

The first is a key forge upper (Keyhole = Cerro Forge) CAR-15 with a 16 inch HBAR.

The second is a broken A ( A (Splintered) = Anchor Harvey Aluminum) forge upper with a 14.5 P&W M4 barrel.

Since both are restricted roll marked Bushmaster, then both are Windham made. The serial numbers put them a few years apart in the late 90's to early 2000's.

This is by no means the ONLY forge markings Colt used, this is just what is on hand or rather what's hanging currently.
People can say what they want. Colt made the way. What happened later is just what happens when you're successful. 💩 happens.

The last one is a Cardinal Forging. The Stylized Diemaco Devtek "D" looks like this.
