Pretty good rifle for the cost. They demo at Arena the last 2 years. Lots of guys running their Chassis systems

Not really. Best bet is to buy their chassis and get your own receiver and have a smith turn the exact barrel you want. Their rifles and Al's smith services are fine, but I trust Bartlein, Hawk Hill, Krieger, etc over their spencer barrels and especially xcaliber barrels. X-caliber is hit or miss on their quality.

And Phil won't stick another mfg's barrel in a rifle.

The PMR was specifically designed to meet the $2k price point to get into the PRS Production class rules from last year. (It may have gone to $2500 this year? i haven't looked).

For $2k it's a pretty solid rifle, with a great chassis and action. The barrel may be suspect, but given that it's a pretty expensive chassis and action, they had to cut corners somewhere.

The other rifles that are in the same "production class" are the BadRock South Fork (an MDT chassis with Defiance Machine action, don't recall the barrel on that one, pretty sure they won't tell you).

Hard to go wrong with either of them.

technically there was also the PVA John Hancock, but they are rare in the wild and pretty sure you can't order one right now. I had one on order for about a year and took a credit towards a new 6.5 barrel and built my own rifle. Just finishing putting it together (MDT chassis, ARC Nucleus action, Timney trigger and an LRI 308 barrel and PVA 6.5CM barrel).

Id go this route if looking for a production class.
