The play is to run heavier pills than the 140's in a 6.5 prc. Take advantage of the higher bc's of the 264 vs the 270 pills as well.

Definitely true! Higher bc’s, faster twist rates, longer and heavier bullets, and tighter tolerances make the 6.5 PRC a bit more accurate with less drift and drop at distance as well as more retained energy at those distances. Kinda like Tiger and John.

I ran my 6.5 PRC through the chronograph and I was getting right at 3000 FPS with 147 ELD loads. That's just shelf ammo. I am sure I could increase that with a good hand load. I have yet to acquire my 6.5 PRC dies yet and a few powders for testing. We will see how that works out. Should be interesting to see just what I can squeeze out of it.

Probably but it's just like anything else. It's just something else to keep us buying the latest and greatest hype cartridge. I do like the idea of a new gun and what better reason than to try out a new cartridge. Marketing gets me Everytime. LOL

Yep like 300 blackout the whisper been around years prior.then everyone went ape**** over the 6.5 creedmore the 260 been around years.they built the 280 to compete with 7 mag.basically a sales gimmick.

I have 6.5 CM, 25-06, 280ai, 270 WSM.

Not sure a 6.5 PRC warrants an addition to what I already have.

I'm a little more interested in the 6.5 Weatherby RPM.
