I also have a mid 90's supertool. I have had it replaced once in the late 90's. I was using it as a pry bar and broke a few of the accessories. Leatherman replaced it without question. The needle nose have weld marks from working on batteries in a pinch. I just hate they don't make the leather pouches anymore.

At last count I have around 20 Leathermans... 7 Squirts, a Core, couple Supertools, a Surge, a Charge, a couple older PST's & 7- 1st Gen. Waves which are my favorite LM's of all of them.
I really like the longer tools & the one-handed opening of the bigger tools.
They, along with a Squirt, are part of my EDC.

Leatherman charge ti with extra bits and extender. I probably use the sharpie I keep in the pouch on my belt the most. Incredibly handy. Goes everywhere with me.

My old boyscout knife... It was left at my archery range 15 years ago, I waited 2 weeks before laying claim to it. Was the best tool for all my scouting adventures.
