My 1st and last ND Very nasty pics. I get to go back to work

Ok so here is another update.

I have started doing exercises with my hand and fingers. It's been about 3 days. I can feel what I assume is the muscles building and healing from the wound and the surgery. It's pretty damn sore. Feels like when we did weight training in high school for football.

On another note I have also started to make small victories. I can lift cups light bags and pull my pants up with both hands. Thank God spring is here and I can wear flip flops. Shoes and socks are starting to get easier.

I can somewhat cook again. This is a big deal since my wife love of my life for ten years (Added that incase she looks) doesn't cook.

I can pick up my son and do what needs do be done to take care of him.

Now I'm focusing on getting enough hand strength to rack the slide on a 1911. After that I will be happy. I will continue to try to become as normal as I can with my hand. It's the little stuff that makes me feel like I am making progress.

You truly don't know how dependant you are on some normal part of your life. This is am sure applies to more injuries than just mine. I was at race track gas station filling up. I had on a wounded warrior T-shirt and a guy asked me where I did my tour. I was taken back as I have never been in the service. I then realized the shirt and hand injury was kind of miss leading. I explained what happened and the guy was still pretty sympathetic to my injury. I also realized at the same time we have tons of men and some still boys coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan that are dealing with far worse than some gun loving redneck like my self with a gunshot wound to the hand.

I think as a group we should get with OS and start our own charity for these men and women. I think it's also a good way to show All the second ammendment haters we have hearts and we are good folks. The media has portrayed us all as dumb ass rednecks. Let's be honest that's what most yuppies think of us lol.
I have no idea what this would entail logistically but I'm willing to help.

Alright so the doctor says a few months of physical therapy two times a week for a month or two and I will be good to go

I actully worked with a guy years ago that was missing his pointer finger and i didnt notice it for several months , Once it is heal and you are back to using it like normal most folks wont even notice that it is missing the middle one. Best of luck with your recovery . I know its a long hard road when ya have major injurys . Not sure if ya had read it or recalled i had pretty bad Burns on my legs last Oct and it took me till Jan to get back to work but everything is back to normal and its getting harder to tell it even happened to most areas . Just keep the workouts and therapy going. It may hurt to move and strech the muscles and skin but i can assure you it is worth it in the end so ya dont lose the range of motion. Best of luck bud

Thanks brother. I won't give up that is for sure. I plan to use this thread to document the whole thing. That way someone who has the same type thing happen can see what to expect. see a positive disposition will get you alot farther faster. denial or being depressed would not help get better.
I hope you all bear with me through this and take it to heart. Be safe this isn't fun it sucks. I could take the ***** way out and cry and complain. That isn't me never has been never will be.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered..

1. Are you stating that your right hand was the only part of your body in contact with the pistol and no other part of your body or foreign object was either in the trigger guard or touching the trigger?

2. Is it not impossible for the internal hammer to be in a "cocked" position?

3. If so and you're stating it "just went off" while merely holding the pistol have you contacted Ruger?

4. Where is the pistol now?

Thanks in advance for your response.
