My 1st and last ND Very nasty pics. I get to go back to work

I am super anal when it comes to checking a gun. Everytime someone hands it to me, I slide check, Everytime I pick it up, I slide Check, when I hand it someone else, they slide check...

That looks like it really sucked.

Hahaha. I'm a dry guy any how. I gotta keep it dry for 24 hours then I can wash my hand thank god. I am supposed to work it tell it hurts they said I was doing better than expected. I fully intend to get to where I have enough strength to rack the slide on my 1911 with two hands instead of one like I have been doing. I'm going to the range tommorrow so that will be a much needed release of stress. Thank you all for the encouragement and wishes for a quick and full recovery.

It's funny and sad to read some of the **** talking. I hope that this is a wake up call for some. I have been around firearms my entire life. **** happens. I payed a price for my mistake. It could have been far far worse.

Bgolden, I’ve been following this thread from the time you first posted this mishap. I don’t remember how I found the "OT" or what prompted me to log on to whatever link that led me to it, but following this thread is why I joined. I too have been around guns my whole life and your accident has had a profound affect and although I was always careful handling firearms before I am extra cautious now. I think you are a stand up guy for telling your story, so don’t let the nit-wit trash talkers get you down. I know you won’t but thought I would say it anyway. I kind of likened this to gear up landings; there are those who have and those who will. If you ever make it to Houston let me know because I would love to buy you an ol’ cold beer. You take care and many thanks. Swingwing

Thanks brother. Will do

So far this ordeal cost me $6000. Thank God I have insurance or I'd be paying $23456. On a side note I got my ed brown magwell mainspring housings and lower rebuild kit today. Replaced the main spring internals the hammer pin and sear pin. Also replaced the plunger and spring for the slide lock and thumb saftey.

Glad to see you recovering.Keep up with the therapy.Used your story the day I found it as a wake up call for myself and then to share with my kids. Hang in there.

Oh yeah almost forgot. Dad when we come down the weekend of the 5th we need to go to the range.

Oh yeah that is a given. Just picked up four more soft pistol cases. I have three (pistols) I have not fired yet so I am itching to get em hot. Hand looks great, keep working it (I know you will) playdough and beans in a bowl to practice picking them out works well and squeezing the playdough for strength. Besides Logan will love the playdough. LOL
