My 1st and last ND Very nasty pics. I get to go back to work

Went to the physical therapist for the first time today. She was surprised at how much range of motion I have already. She told me to slow down a little bit. She expects me to have a healed and fully functional hand in two months. I asked lots of questions.
1. How long before I have normal circulation.
A. Around 12-13 months before circulation is normal
2. How long before I have full sensation and feelings in my fingers.
A. Aprox 2-3 months.
3. Why does my finger spaz out when I move it some times
A. Lack of strength and or pain. I'm going with the muscle loss here..
4. How do I deal with the stiffness and swelling in the morning
A. Heat but not to much it can make the swelling worse. Run your hand under warm water and work your hand.
5. What can I put on my hand to help with scaring and also flexibility.
A. Straight vitamin E. Every day twice a day. Also massage any areas that need to be more flexible while applying tension to the skin by moving the joint.

If I remember anything else I will update the post

I am pushing myself pretty hard. I don't want to be a woe is me candy ass. I did this to my self now I need to fix it. I think my positive attitude and high tolerance for pain play a big role in my progress. She did say most people puss out and just give up. I won't be that guy.

Glad you are doing better. Keep it up!!

Great attitude man! I need to let you talk to my girlfriend about working hard to rehabilitate yourself. I just sound like a broken record to her.

Prayers for you, your family and your recovery.

Great work Brother! Keep pushing and I am glad to see you are on your way to recovering.

Thank you for posting this and for the updates. I took a good friend of the families 12 year old to the range for his first time and told/ showed him your story after we were done ( didn't want him too nervous to begin with!). He took it to heart and really understood the points, it really drive's them home.

Thanks brother.
I'm glad my pain and suffering can help prevent other people from going through this. I am a very strong willed individual I don't take no for an answer and I don't quit. I hope no one takes it as me being arrogant. I'm very humble. I feel God choose my path. He knows I'm strong enough to handle it.

There's a silicone scar pad that you can put on your hand to greatly reduce the scarring. I forget the actual company but ask your therapist, she should know exactly what you are talking about.

She mentioned that but said to wait until all the scabs are gone. Somthing about it pulling off the scabs. Thanks for the heads up though

Picked up one of these today

Its amazing how much strength I really have lost.

This put it in perspective for me. I'm not a small guy. Always been above average size.
I could have fully compressed this with any two fingers on my hand four weeks ago. I can barely move it right now. Give me two weeks and I'll squish this thing hahaha
