Went to the physical therapist for the first time today. She was surprised at how much range of motion I have already. She told me to slow down a little bit. She expects me to have a healed and fully functional hand in two months. I asked lots of questions.
1. How long before I have normal circulation.
A. Around 12-13 months before circulation is normal
2. How long before I have full sensation and feelings in my fingers.
A. Aprox 2-3 months.
3. Why does my finger spaz out when I move it some times
A. Lack of strength and or pain. I'm going with the muscle loss here..
4. How do I deal with the stiffness and swelling in the morning
A. Heat but not to much it can make the swelling worse. Run your hand under warm water and work your hand.
5. What can I put on my hand to help with scaring and also flexibility.
A. Straight vitamin E. Every day twice a day. Also massage any areas that need to be more flexible while applying tension to the skin by moving the joint.
If I remember anything else I will update the post
I am pushing myself pretty hard. I don't want to be a woe is me candy ass. I did this to my self now I need to fix it. I think my positive attitude and high tolerance for pain play a big role in my progress. She did say most people puss out and just give up. I won't be that guy.
