my first 1911

Many make more of the so called "idiot scratch" than I do. If you're going to carry a pistol it'll get it's bumps and bruises.

Most hate that first scratch on their new truck too, but it is after all a truck. Mine goes where I need to go, hauls what I need to haul and it gets scratched. My carry pistols are no different. It doesn't affect either's performance.

I'm not talking about abuse, but I simply can't enjoy something I worry about scratching or marring. I just relax and enjoy having it.

I'd assume that since you noticed it was hard to make, you're not an idiot ;)

Welcome to the club...everyone should own at least one 1911 :thumb:

Just don't put any pink fans on it

I wish I could tell myself one is all I need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Like my screen name indicates I love 1911's. An idiot scratch ain't hard to do, every 1911 has a little different feel when reassembling. I like to keep my left thumb on the slide just in case I miss. Enjoy your new toy !!

I guess its time for an update on this thread.
As so many of you predicted 1911's are accumulating I have 3 at the moment and I regularly get the urge for more, this my firs has been my favorite shooter since i got it and it did something no other gun before it could do,:laser: it taught me to shoot not only am I a better shot with this one than any handgun before but it has also made me more accurate with my other guns allowing me to appreciate them more. I almost traded it away recently I saw another 1911 listed that i kinda wanted to try out so i replied "PM inbound" but while i was taking pictures of it to send with the PM i realized that i just couldn't, Idiot mark and all i love this gun :)

and to the necromancer that awoke this thread I'm not sure if the question was directed towards me but no I don't have a 5.7, when you get the 1911 bug its hard to hold on to anything that is not a 1911 or .45

Here she is again, how can you not love that smile
