You toss the hurt / sick person on a vehicle and drive fast to the hospital,
Since that’s a lot quicker than waiting on the ambulance .

where we used to live the tow truck would show up at a car wreck 15-30 minutes before the ambulance did.
Ambulance response time was somewhere between 30 to 60 minutes
