my rant about people...cow patty special.

new guy starts work(been out of work for awhile.)
his truck that he just traded for is overheating. he
asks me if i know how to fix his vehicle. i say i can.
he says he is grateful and that he can pay me a
small token. so i replaced his radiator and a few
other parts,diagnosed some sensors and ran around
town for him picking up a few of these parts (all on my
own time.) so,before i fixed his truck,he was a very
nice individual,now that the repairs are complete he
is giving me the cold shoulder and it is very likely
that he won't pay me. its funny that he identifies
himself as a christian. i dont know what to do.
i feel ive been duped,should have known better.
what this guy doesnt realize is i could have him
fired. his work ethic kinda sux,he talks bad behind
others' backs and his skill set is a little low among
other things. im a little po'd. how would you handle
it?

Sounds like he's a piece of work. More relevantly, it sounds like you are out some material cash? If so, I'd simply "I spent $xxx and xx hours fixing your truck. Do what you feel is best." There's a difference between helping folks and being taken advantage of.
