My Ruger Gunsite Scout thread of awesomeness

I wanted a RGS for a long time, but I was concerned about the 16" barrel a bit. Let us know how she shoots... Glad you got it!

Are you going to get a Scout type scope?

the stainless model has a 18 inch barrel :)

not sure on scopes yet....gonna try and find someone with a red dot and see how i like it on there. i really want to keep irons for a backup since it will be my new deer gun (retiring the marlin 336 lol) and dont want to screw up a hunt cause my scope broke and i have no backups (has happened to me before).

and lol, ive been "looking" for one for awhile now, only recently did i have the extra funds to actually go on the hunt for one. and after a week of hunting gunshops...i found one at the closest one to me hiding among some mossburg MVPs (stock looks similar so i didnt see it 1st time i went in).

and btw, Bullseye in Lawrenceville has really upped the customer service game. i was greeted and helped within minutes earlier today when i found it and looked it over. and again when i went back to buy. alot better service since last i been in there (few months ago). i still refuse to use that range though lol, death trap.

hey, you know they put the bolt on the wrong side of that gun?

Kidding, I'm a lefty too, but I stick to RH guns. They're easier to find!

Congrats!

oh yeah they are lol. i grew up shooting lefty in a right handed gun world lol. i been working the action alot getting used to it haha. all the bolts ive ever owned before this one where all right handed....but when these first came out and they said they were doing left handed...i knew i had to have one! and then the stainless model came out and it turned into my Unicorn rifle!

Your unicorn only took a week to find?!?!? Lucky...

This. I spent over a year looking for some firearms.

Yep. I spent two years looking for a S&W 686 Plus snubbie. Finally found a sweet Talo edition on here a few months ago.

I finally found mine after 10 years!

Hell, I have been looking for 20+ years for my unicorn and still haven't found one yet.

It could be that it isn't made, but that is what makes it unicorn, no?

Very Nice
I can't remember who, but somebody makes a really good picatinny rail mount for that one and a rear sight that works with the existing front.

I Hope you enjoy it
