My Ruger Gunsite Scout thread of awesomeness

and before i go to bed, the trigger is absolutely fantastic! sucks i cant get to a range till next week....i cant wait to throw some lead with it!!

You're going to love having a lefty and start wondering how you ever got along without it.
It seems you have it properly figured out, Hold the barrel (heavy end of the stick) steady with your strong side and operate the controls with your weak side. Kinda wonder why none of the other guys have figured out it's the proper way to shoot.
.308 forget a red dot. You're gonna want to be able to stretch it out. A proper hunting rig needs a 3-9x anyway

i couldnt wait...had to go shoot it lol. didnt shoot much, about 20rds or so. already can tell im gonna for sure need to scope it, the irons are really nice though. i didnt adjust them, and not going to sight in irons on a range i pay for by time lol (takes me awhile to get em where i like em) I was using just some Magtech ammo. was at 30yds indoor. it was holding a nice quarter size groupings while i was on a makeshift benchrest. managing silver dollars size groupings unsupported standing. and i can tell i havent used a bolt action in over 10 years lol, and all those were right handed lol. i got the hang of it after a few rounds and could spit out rounds accuratly pretty darn fast lol. im not sure how i managed using a right handed bolt as a lefty for so many years lol.

i will for sure be ordering a XS rail ( http://www.xssights.com/index.php?nID=scopemounts&cID=Scope Mounts&pID=scopemounts ) for sure so i can mount a proper scope. ive never been a fan of long eye relief scope setups. i already have a super nice set of leupold QD rings and a decent bushnell 3x9 to put on top while i try and save for a leupold mk4 (used to have one on my socom 16 and loved it! i want another so bad lol). although with the XS rail system, i could put a ACOG on top of it which would be nice also.

and for a few pics, i wasnt going for a full sight-in and accuracy test. so i didnt take really goo review pics of the action and stuff. im waiting on when i get the XS rail in and go down to Charlie Elliot to the 100yd outdoor range to give it a full on bruiser testing. plenty of pics and will do a bigger review then. mainly just spitting out some rounds with the girlfriend and her sister tagged along because she wanted to shoot my pistol lol.

my makeshift bench lol
