Holy cow what a crazy accident. He's lucky to still be here. Can anyone shed light on what are these "Slap rounds"? In the video he says he got an extra hot slap round that generated > 85,000 [corrected] > 161,000 psi, which is what blew up the rifle.

Wonder if that round had been transported a lot and the pellets broke down into finer powder? Double load? Crazy story no matter what happened.
Trust your life to a threaded end cap? Thanks, no. Look at at that rifle. Would you buy or shoot one if it used a threaded cap to contain that pressure? I've shot/owned 50 BMGs. No way in Hell.
It was not the design, this has been thoroughly investigated and discussed as this is many months old. The round sheered both the retaining lugs as well as the end cap clean off the rifle and would have done the same thing to any other design, perfect example of don’t use ammo not for your gun…so before you go trashing someone’s design and lively hood do a little research
Call it what it is. A 50 BMG for the poors. Stupid design. It's a pipe bomb with a hole in one end.
