after many days of wasting time in the stand, it finally happened today. a few weeks ago i bought him a savage axis 22-250 in camo stock, and gave it to him as his first hunting rifle.
today, he made me the proudest dad on the planet, and drilled his first deer, at 20 feet. pic of him with the deer, and i will also attach a pic of what a 55grain hornady v-max varmint bullet will do to a deer. this is the same bullet i shoot in my ar-15 when i hunt with it.
this is how the deer was when it laid down. he put a perfect shot, deer was just standing at an odd angle, and it ran about 20 yards.

as a side note, its nearly 2 hours after he shot it, and he is still on top of the world!!! that rifle is the best $400 i have ever spent.
