Back in 1989 at Luke AFB I crawled through a 1500 ft 2.5 ft cable run pulling a rope so we could pull new radar cable. Only worries I had was rattlesnakes. I snuck in a .22 revolver with ratshot. Luckily there were no snakes.

We used Radio Controlled cars puling a thin pull line that graduated eventually up to larger pull ropes
