The 148 grain wadcutter which was the widely used target round . The preferred ammo for the Model 52 S&W target pistol. The hollow based version makes a great low velocity hollow point when hand loaded. Great for paper.No one probably knows the total number fired. Probably in the billions. I helped and still shoot them.

I picked up a couple guns the other day and some ammo came with them.
This is a 38 special that I never seen before, what kind of slug is that and
what would I use it for other than on a liberal just to see what it would do.

I'd say they were copper plated double ended wadcutters.
