The ship was not in two different centuries. A century is 100 years. The first number in a century is ONE not ZERO. Why? Because the original numbering was done in Roman Numerals and there is no ZERO in that numbering scheme.

(1) Century began in 1901 (according to some)

Well, technically, the numbering system wasn't use until several hundred AD (depending on location), so there was no year 1 either.

Since the same argument applies to decades (first decade would be 1-10), then the last year of the 1960s was 1970. Most people would think that's just screwy.
