I have a new S&W Model 69. After about 50 rounds the cylinder became very hard to open and close. Once closed, everything functioned perfectly. The ejector rod is tight, there is no junk under the star, gun is clean. I need a gunsmith near Woodstock to look at it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Have you checked ALL screws ? Made sure everything is tight ?
Also check ejector rod, make sure it is tight and properly seating.

Check the gap between the cylinder and barrel with after it gets hot, there should still be some gap.

Sounds like cylinder ejector pin is not getting pushed out enough when trying to open.
Needs adjustment I bet… just a guess though.

Everything thing is tight. Cylinder/barrel gap fine. Sitting here clean and cold and and it takes significant force to both open and close it. Once closed, action is perfectly smooth.
