How to date an Enfield:

Invite it out to the range, but stop somewhere around 1:30 for tea and biscuits (cookies) first.

Feed it a proper diet of Eley brand ammunition.

Compliment it on its grips, and classic shape.

(Don't mention its weight. Simply don't.
It already knows quite well how is compares to these new modern model revolvers with their aluminum or titanium alloy frames.)

Ask her to tell some stories about her past adventures, and listen politely--- but do not reciprocate by talking about any other guns you've been with.
