If the shtf, I would grab my 500a before my 870. The 500 is easier to cycle and the action lock is in a better place. Easier to reload in a hurry too.

Why are you selling it?
I did take notice to the location of the action locks on them.
Drum magazines on shot guns may be fun at the range after you dick around getting them loaded, in the gun, but other than that really have no place on a fighting shotgun.
I own a wood stocked Mossberg 500 and have a 28 in barrel with fixed modified choke for dove and small game but most of the time it sits with an 18 in barrel loaded with buckshot for home defense. It works great for me.
I just don't shoot it if I lived outside of the city I would have a great deal more fun. No hunting either.
