I am auto electric illiterate. So please explain to me, as if I were 8, how to test to see if the drivers side door window switch is bad or if the window motor is bad.

Problem: 2015 Subaru Forster- Drivers side front window does not go up or down. No noise or anything. The other 3 windows work fine from the drivers master switch door panel.

I am able to take the door panel off and gain access to the switch backside and the wired plug.

Tell me what to do from there, or if you know of an excellent Youtube video, please point me in the write direction. I hate to spend $200 on a switch when it may be the motor.

Also, if anyone has a Subaru parts hookup, let me know!

If it were me i would put a volt meter on the motor leads and see if your getting voltage to the motor. if you are then it's the motor, if you don't it's the switch. NOW, You might want to see if the parts store or the dealership could help you with a schematic to see if there is a relay mixed in the wiring.
