Need help identifying rifle

I received some rifles from my late grandfather n law. I know what all of them are except this one there’s not many markings but they’re posted below. Thank you in advance for any help.

They grounded or defaced the "mum", because for the enemy to capture the marked weapon was dishonorable as it represented the emperor's property. Typically intact mums are GI bring backs. Most of the ones surrendered after the war were defaced before shipping to the US.
