All - I’m going thru my inherited firearm collection and trying to ID a couple of Arisaka rifles. I know there are a lot of people on ODT who know much more than I do about Japanese WWII rifles. I think they are Type 99, but not sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated about these rifles. I think the one with the two-piece stock and wood butt pad may be a late war rifle, but again, not sure. Thanks ODT!

One looks to be a late war (Last Ditch) Type 99, the one with the wooden buttplate. The other appears to be a Type 38. Your pictures, while perfectly acceptable on ODT for sailing purposes are incredibly bad for ID'ing specifics.

Both rifles appear to be in awful condition and will have minimal value.

Ok. Thanks. I’ll take some receiver markings pics tonight. Thanks again

Bingo!
Also I am pretty sure the second one(one with 2 holes ) is a training rifle. Does it have rifling?
