My son is going to be home for 2 days for Christmas..He travels all over the world for an engineering company, starting new projects for Google fiber optics. I asked him what he would like to have for Christmas? He is a big disc golf fan, but loves to hike and camp..He told me he would like a good tree to tree hammock..I suggested Woot, but he has not found one that he likes..Soooooo I would like to get him a good one..Please offer suggestions, as I am not in that loop of knowledge..Thanks ahead of time.

I have had a Grand Trunk skeeter beater for years and I've been happy with it. I have friends that are happy with ENO. I'd get him one with a mosquito or noseeum net and a rainfly.

Ask if he prefers a side entry or a bottom entry.

If it is sleeping while camping, then Hennessy and Eno are good brands. I have a Hennessy that's probably close to 15 years old and still going strong. There should be a lot deals popping up in the next week at places like REI, Moosejaw, Moontrail, BackCountry Gear, etc.

The downside to sleeping in a hammock is when it starts to get a little colder, you need an underquilt to attach to the bottom of the hammock.
