Need Scope Mounting

If it’s so easy, why are the majority of the scope mounting jobs that I’ve seen all dicked up?

It needs to bedone properly, torqued to spec, in a manner so that it’s:

1. Level

2. Eye relief is set properly

3. Scope isn’t damaged

4. Scope/mount/rings don’t shift or come loose on down the road

5. Is easily removed with hand tools

This may include the rings needing to be lapped.

It SHOULD be an easy job, but it ain’t for most folks.

Like I said, most gun stores will muck this sort of job up. I’ve remounted a lot of scopes over the years that were done elsewhere the first time. In the process I’ve seen scopes damaged by improper mounting techniques.

Over torquing and unlevel are the biggest issues I see. Deep ring marks, crushed tubes, sliding scopes.
